It's with great sadness that we announce that, after 45 years in business, Abbey Kindergarten opened its doors for the last time on .

The committee would like to send a big thanks to our wonderful staff - Jacqui, Karen, Cherise, Saeeder and Caroline - who have worked incredibly hard, with sheer determination, to provide a lovely environment for our children to thrive and learn in over the years.

And to you all of you who have supported Abbey, past or present, we thank you too for your help and encouragement.

We wish our children and their families all the best in their new adventures in school and nursery.

- Abbey Kindergarten Committee

Welcome to Abbey Kindergarten Pre-School. This website endeavours to cover all aspects of our Pre-School. If you do find there are questions that are not covered by this website please do not hesitate to contact our supervisor Jacqui (see our contact page).

We aim to provide you and your child with a happy, secure and stimulating environment for learning through play, in which the development and education of children under statutory school age is achieved. Our large indoor facilities and secure outdoor play area allow us to do this in a variety of ways, such as setting up a reading area outside during the summer months.

Our pre-school was established in and was registered in the town of Wymondham, Norfolk, in . On Abbey Kindergarten became committee run. Having previously been run from the Abbey Hall, the pre-school moved to its current location of Kett's Park Recreation & Community Centre Recreation and Community Centre in 2000.

We are a charity — our registered charity number is 1026419 — and as such are a non-profit making organisation; all monies made are ploughed back into the Pre-School with children's welfare as our primary concern.

Being a charity also means we are able to fundraise through events such as the Wymondham Carnival or through committee organised activities such as table-top sales. Fundraising allows us to buy new equipment or fund outings, for example.

We take children from the age of two until they are ready to start primary school.

If you're looking for a pre-school place for your child, we take children from two years of age. You can register your interest through our contact page.

Our facilities offer a large open-plan space for the children to play in, and a safe and enclosed outdoor play area that houses an all-weather safety surface and a vegetable garden.

The pre-school has an excellent range of learning and play equipment that changes from day to day and the children have the freedom to choose the activities they take part in. All activities offer learning as well as play.

Our sessions currently run from until during the school term only. Term dates are announced on the Norfolk Country Council term times page.

We offer a free Stay and Play session for new families to attend and get a taste of what we offer as well as to help with transition into our setting.

Please feel free to download a copy of our welcome brochure.
